Ruth I. Spurlock

BUCYRUS: Ruth I. Spurlock, 84, formerly of 1322 S. Sandusky Ave., Bucyrus passed away Sunday in Altercare of Bucyrus where she had been a resident since June 2009. Ruth was born in Bucyrus Jan. 19, 1926 to the late David Henderson Aller and Harriet Viola (Fahl) Aller. She was married June 29, 1943 to Carroll M. Spurlock who preceded her in death.

In addition to her husband; she was preceded in death by daughter, Elaine Ruth Spurlock Zimmerman; and one sister, Armeda M. Metheny.

Mrs. Spurlock is survived by two grandchildren, Paula (James) Brown, Nevada; Adam C. Zimmerman, Bucyrus; one great grandson, Tanner J. Brown; brother, John (Pat) Aller, Sevierville, TN; sister, Donna J. (Paul) James of Galion; as well as nieces and nephews.

Ruth worked at Ekleberry Poultry for 20 years, Sack & Save, and Auck Dostal Insurance. She graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1943 and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Beta Sigma Sunday School Class, and was a Steven Minister for the Church. She especially enjoyed flowers, gardening, and nature.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday October 21 at 3:00 pm in the Bucyrus United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Kraps officiating. Following the family and Ruth's request, her body was donated for anatomical study at O.S.U.

Memorials may be made to the Church, Cr. Co. Park District, or Home Care Matters Hospice through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.
