BUCYRUS: Shirley Beeson, 97, of Bucyrus passed away early Tuesday morning in the Inn at Orchard Park.

Shirley was born Aug. 24, 1915 in Sand Run, Ohio, Hocking County to the late Clarence D. and Ella Mae (Collins) Stedman. She was married May 18, 1955 to Calvin Beeson Jr. who preceded her in death on March 21, 1995. She was also preceded in death by brother and his wife, Donald and Norma (Durigg) Stedman; sisters, Bette Catella and her husband, Frank, Loree and husband, Jim Strawser; and brother in law and wife, Harold and Phyllis Beeson.

Shirley is survived by daughter, Rebecca Graham of Galion; son, Kevin (Vicki) Beeson, New Washington; four grandchildren, Ryan Beeson, Toledo, Sean and Laura (Finnegan) Beeson, Shelby, Collin and Rachel Beeson both of Toledo; two great grandchildren, Titus and Eva Beeson.

Shirley moved to this area in 1929 and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1933. She was a founding member and former trustee of the Bucyrus Historical Society. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting and talking about dolls with all her friends of the Indian Trails Doll Club. Shirley's most memorable activity was that she was the president (worldwide) of the Humphrey Bogart Fan Club.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the funeral home to be gifted to the compassionate and caring staff at Orchard Park. Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
