Rita Stroble Obituary

Rita C. Stroble

SWANTON: Rita C. Stroble, age 66, of Swanton, Ohio, entered through the gates of heaven and into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, following a valiant battle with cancer, Thursday evening, July 30, 2015, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania.

She was born April 10, 1949 in Willard, Ohio and raised in Chatfield, Ohio by her parents, Dorcie and Aner (Chesney) Kirby. Rita was a graduate of Buckeye Central High School, Class of '67. She married Ronald Stroble on July 12, 1969. Together they raised two sons, Thad and Brandon Stroble.

Rita worked 32 years for UPS. She was known as the go to person for spiritual and personal guidance by her fellow co-workers in their time of trouble. Rita was a member of the Swanton Church of the Nazarene where she served as church board member for 15 years. She was very devoted to the Nazarene Missions and her volunteer role as Nazarene Missions International President over the past 15 years.

She will be remembered as a very outgoing person who enjoyed socializing with her friends and family.

Rita will be greatly missed by her husband of 46 years, Ronald; sons, Thad Stroble and Brandon (Danielle) Stroble; grandchildren, Nathan, Jessica, Lexi, and Drew Stroble, brothers, Jackie and Harold Kirby; mother-in-law, Mary "Libby" Cady; as well as many nieces, nephews; and extended family and friends.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Dorcie and Aner; infant sister, Brenda Kirby, and sister, Shirley Hess.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Swanton Church of the Nazarene, 315 W. Airport Hwy. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4th in the church with Pastor Harold Ratliff officiating. Private graveside services will be held Tuesday afternoon at Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus, Ohio.
