MANSFIELD: Nellie M. (Rowles) Brewer, 86, of Mansfield, was reunited with her husband, Clifford Eugene Brewer Thursday, August 22, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield.
Born July 6, 1927 in Bucyrus, she was the daughter of Clyde Eli and Bessie Mae (Holcomb) Rowles.
A graduate of Bucyrus High School, she retired from Ontario Schools in 1987 as a cook in the cafeteria after 14 years of service. She was a member of the Ontario United Methodist Church and the Ontario VFW Auxiliary #7651. A kind and caring woman, her children have very fond memories of growing up on the family farm. She enjoyed shopping at WalMart and thrift stores, playing cards, collecting dolls, decorating for the holidays and loved to have flowers both inside and outside of the home. When both she and her husband retired, they spent their winters in Florida.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Diana) Brewer of Galion and Randy Brewer of Crestline; two daughters, Beverly (Tom) Mathis and Patricia (Tim) Secrist all of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Chad (Kerry) Brewer of Galion, Justin (Shelley) Brewer of Crestline, Jacob Brewer of Galion, Bradley Brewer and his fiance, Kristy of Canton, Megan Mathis of Lexington and Abigail Secrist of Mansfield; 13 great grandchildren, Tayler, Ciarra, Julia, Maria, Cecilia, Eli, Brevyn, Tryston, Jaelyn, Emily, Xander, Victoria and Blaine; a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives; and her dog, Molly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Clifford Eugene Brewer on April 11, 2004; a daughter, Barbara Ann Brewer; a granddaughter, Lindsay Ann Secrist; a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Brewer; and a brother, Charles Rowles.
Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Peg Welch. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
