Betty Jean (McPeak) Fegley

BUCYRUS: Betty Jean (McPeak) Fegley died at home Monday morning, July 30, 2012, surrounded lovingly by friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jo Elaine Fegley, less than two weeks ago.

Her husband of sixty-five years, Kenneth C. Fegley survives. She is also survived by daughter, Jeanne Jacobs of Bloomington Indiana; granddaughters, Suzanne Jacobs of Chicago and Jenny (Clint) Edgington of Columbus, Ohio; great-grandson, Cole, of Columbus, Ohio; and sister, Evelyn (Kermit) Kibler of Sulfur Springs.

Betty was born November 24, 1923 in Bucyrus to the late Wilford and Ellen (Jaberg) McPeak. She was a graduate of Bucyrus High School and a lifelong resident of Bucyrus. During her life, she worked for the Swan Rubber Company and for Sears & Roebuck retail office. Her first priority, however, was always her family. She owned a strong, but gentle spirit. Throughout her life, she cared for and encouraged her daughter Jo who dealt with an ongoing disability and illness. Betty was seldom seen without a smile and she faced adversity with an iron will and resilient faith.

As her health declined recently, she was supported and cared for unfailingly by a husband she truly deserved. Their long marriage and their mutual consideration and respect was inspirational to all who knew them. Betty's friends and family will miss her genuine interest in their lives; she always placed the welfare of others first. Although she was a tiny woman, she had a huge heart, a ready laugh, and a soul full of love.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Home Care Matters through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left at
