BUCYRUS: Gregory C. Williams, 49, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
Greg was born April 3, 1963 in Bucyrus to the late Charles L. Williams and Juanita (Springer) Williams Gatchell who survives and resides in Bucyrus. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Vance and Winifred Edgington and Lewis and Elsie Williams.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by brothers Charles L. (Terra) Williams and Lyle E. Williams both of Bucyrus; sisters, Loretta (Thomas) Bauer of Newport News, Va. and Tina (Steven) Schimpf of Sylvania, Ohio. Nieces and nephews surviving are, Stephen and Lauren Lance; Danielle, Lance and Gretchen Bauer; Charles L. III, Kayleigh, Mackenzie and Wesley Williams; Abby, Madelyn, and Macey, Williams; and Courtney and Ava Schimpf. Aunts include Neva (David) Greenich of rural Crestline and Wilma Springer of Bucyrus.
Greg attended Fairway/Waycraft while living in Bucyrus and lived for the past nineteen years at Tiffin Developmental Center. He loved to fish and spent many hours at his grandpa and grandma's pond as a youth. He hardly ever held a conversation that he did not first mention a watch and then Spiderman or Chuck Norris.
His family will receive friends from 10 a.m. - 12 noon Thursday, June 21 at Wise Funeral Service, where funeral services will follow beginning at 12:00 noon that day with Pastor Ray LaSalle of the Bucyrus First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will take place in Nevada Cemetery.
Family request that memorial contributions be made to Fairway/Waycraft and those funds will be used for the senior's program which was established in the mid-fifties by Greg's grandmother Winifred and friend Garnet Bauer. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.wisefuneral.com.
