TIRO: Viola Karl, age 95, of Tiro, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard. She was born on July 21, 1917 in Cranberry Township, Ohio to the late Otto and Josephine (Durnwald) Heydinger.
Viola had worked as a bookkeeper at the New Washington Equity and was a member of the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in North Auburn, North Auburn Rosary Altar Society and Bucyrus Travel Club. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Karl of Tiro; two daughters, Louise (Karl) Eggers of Columbus and Ruth (Karl) Alten of Sheffield Lake; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; three brothers, Gilbert Heydinger, Glenn Heydinger and William Heydinger all of New Washington; two sisters, Vera Clady and Inez Gray, both of New Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Anthony Karl in 1978; son, Michael Karl; and daughter, Mary Jo Karl; three brothers, Allen Heydinger, Donald Heydinger and Harold Heydinger; sister, Bertha Karl; two infant brothers; and two infant sisters.
A private family viewing will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in North Auburn at 11:00 AM, with Father Eric Culler officiating. Burial will follow at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery in North Auburn.
