BUCYRUS: Richard F. Beal, 83 of Bucyrus passed away Thursday Evening in Bucyrus Community Hospital. Mr. Beal was born May 9, 1929 in Chatfield, Crawford Co. to the Late Frederick Nathan and Susana Bertha (Hoss) Beal. On July 6, 1952 he married Ethlyn Mae (Crawford) who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Duane Richard (Faye) Beal of Rochester Hills, MI. and David Allen Beal of Bucyrus; his grandchildren, Colin (Kara) Beal, Courtney Williams, and Shannon Beal, his great grandchildren, Addison, Carter, and Lucas; as well as one brother Harold (June) Beal of Mansfield. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Esther Zulauf , Bernice Beal, Edith Blackford.
Mr. Beal graduated from Chatfield High School in 1947. He moved to Bucyrus in 1962 and was a lifetime member of the Evangelical Pietist Church where he was an Usher, Elder, and Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Beal retired from Timken after 32 years. He was a volunteer at the Bucyrus Community Hospital for more than 10 years and managed minor league, little league, and Babe Ruth Baseball which he truly enjoyed. He served in the United States Army from Feb. 1951 to Aug. 1951. He was a member of the American Legion Post 181 and enjoyed making bowls and vases out of exotic woods.
The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11 am in the funeral home with Rev. Larry Bertsch officiating, burial will follow in Lust Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson's Foundation through the funeral home.
