Duffner , 75, of 1224 State Route 61 N., Galion, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital, Mansfield after a battle with cancer. Carolyn was born in Galion on October 19, 1937 to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Schrag) Spraw. She married Duane L. Duffner on January 1, 1978 and he survives her. She was a graduate of Galion High School. She was employed by North Electric, Galion; Harriman Roth, Shelby and Fred Barr Realtor as a secretary. Carolyn was a member of the Martel United Methodist Church, Martel. She enjoyed watching the soap opera "Days of Our Lives" and reading. She loved to eat out, especially at The Warrior in Ontario. She is survived by her daughter Debbie (Price) Carpenter, Crestline, granddaughter Davina (Price) & Steve Morrison; grandson Cody Carpenter; great-granddaughters Emma & Taylor Morrison; stepchildren: Sheila & Walt Poffenbaugh, Willard; Danny & Nan Duffner, Bucyrus; Lee Jay & Peggy Duffner, New Winchester and Sonja & Dan Striker, Bucyrus; eleven step-grandchilddren; sixteen step-great-grandchildren and her special friend Reable Post, Galion . In a word Colton Viars was a "charmer." A young man who could talk with anyone, he never met a stranger and was known for being loyal to his friends and family. He had a personality that would light up a room. Wherever Colton was he was having a great time, but more importantly he made sure everyone with him was also having a great time. Colton passed away Wednesday afternoon May 22, 2013 in Mansfield. He was 22. The demons are gone from his life now and he is dancing in Heaven with his loved ones that passed before him. Born October 11, 1990 in Mansfield, Colton remained a lifelong area resident and attended Clear Fork Schools. He wrestled, played football and baseball in school. He was a great little baseball player and Colton (or Cotton as his coach Denny VanHouten called him) usually played second base: he wanted to be in the middle of all the action, both on the field and off. Colton enjoyed fishing with his buddies, hunting with his Dad, riding dirt bikes and golfing with his buddies Tyler and Jacob or his Dad, Papa and uncles, messing with his Mom's hair, giving her the best hugs ever, and flashing her that smile and those eyes that he knew would get him anything he wanted. What Colton loved the most were activities that included relationships. He just wanted to be active, having fun with his family and friends. Harassing his little brother Garrett was his favorite past time when they were together. Emmett Smith and the Dallas Cowboys were his favorite player and team. Described as a young man with a good heart, Colton treasured his pure white Huskita: Zeus, and worked in robotic welding for Milark Industries in Mansfield. Colton loved family gatherings and fun times with his family including his father Steve Viars of Mansfield, mother and stepfather Kellee (Allen) & Bill Wisenbarger of Butler; his brother Garrett Viars, who he loved with all his heart, step brothers Adam (Amy Weikle) Wisenbarger, Aric Wisenbarger (with whom he shared a birthday) and Alex Wisenbarger all of Bellville; maternal grandparents Lee & Bonnie (Cover) Allen of Bucyrus; paternal grandparents James & Anita Viars of Mansfield; step grandmother D Wisenbarger of Butler; his best friend Tyler Tilton of Bellville; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and too many friends to mention. His paternal grandmother Muriel Viars preceded him in death in August of 1988. Colton's family will receive friends and family Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from Noon to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. In respect to Colton's laid-back and relaxed personality, casual attire is preferred. Pastor Patrick Bailey will lead a funeral service Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Zion Cemetery near Butler. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Colton's memory to Clear Fork Athletic Department, to benefit the future athletes and keep them busy and away from the evil in this world.
