Beloved husband of the late Irene Elizabeth "June" (nee LaChance) Grasso; devoted father of June Marie (Mitchell) Gerstein, Michael (Deborah) Grasso and Richard (Gwendolyn) Grasso; cherished grandfather of Christopher (Tabitha) Grasso, Andrew Paul Canedo, Laura Grasso, Mary Grasso, Amalia (Jose) Orduna, Angela Maturo and Lawrence Maturo; great-grandfather of Caden, Michael, RJ, Rheyenne, Braylon and Giovanni; loving son of the late Anthony and Mary Grasso; dear brother of Dr. Thomas (Carola) Grasso, Lawrence (Bill Clar) Grasso, Joanna (William) Swiercz and the late Dr. Anthony (Rosemarie) Grasso and Dr. Robert (Carol) Grasso. GUNDLACH - Karen Ann (nee Essenburg) Age 74, of North Tonawanda, was called to her heavenly home on June 30, 2015. Karen is the daughter of the late Elwyn and Viola Essenburg; survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Raymond Gundlach; her adoring children Kimberly (Bob) Toye, Jeffrey (Carrie) Gundlach, Eric Gundlach and Shawndra (Trevor) Sterner; grandmother of Megan (Nick), Andrea (fiance Eric), Danny, Sonja, Evan, Kyler, Kayla, Dorothea, Oliver and Elijah; great-grandmother of Patrick, AnnaMae, Jamison and Nash; sister of Tom (Sheryl) Essenburg, George Essenburg, Joan (John) Quinzio and Jim (Peggy) Essenburg; sister-in-law of Ralph (Scotty) Gundlach and Eunice Fox; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St., (between Morgan and Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday at 10 AM in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd. in North Tonawanda. Friends invited. The Rev. Karl Haeussler will officiate. A private entombment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to Niagara Hospice. Karen was a 1958 graduate of North Tonawanda High School, serving on the Reunion Planning Committee for many years. She was also an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
