Family will receive relatives and friends at the WENDEL & LOECHER INC., FUNERAL HOME, 27 Aurora St., Lancaster Friday from 4-8 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at St. John the Baptist RC Church, Alden, NY Saturday morning at 10 AM. FISHER - Thelma Abel Of Rochester, NY, December 27, 2014, at age 94, beloved wife of the late Irving M. Fisher; sister of the late Eugene Abel; caring mother of William Fisher (Marilyn Lambert-Fisher), Robert Fisher (Roberta) and Jo Ellen Susman; grandmother of Brian Fisher (Kaitlin), Kevin Fisher (Robin), Graham Fisher, Michael Fisher, Jennifer Kitsis (Edward) and Stephanie Susman; great-grandmother of Matteo, Marco, Luca, and Sophie Fisher, Roman Kitsis and Issac Susman. A private family service will be held graveside at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Thelma graduated from Bennett High School at the age of 15 and from State Teachers College (now Buffalo State). She taught Kindergarten at Kadimah Jewish School for over 25 years and volunteered at Meals on Wheels and the VA Hospital in Buffalo, NY. She was a long time member of Temple Beth Zion. (Christine) Fleming; sister of the late Maureen Grundtisch (Glenn), Gerald (late Helen) Donigan and Ann (Richard) Edmonds; grandmother of Elizabeth, Colleen, Kaitlyn, Patrick McNamara, James, Megan, John Ryan, William, Kathleen O'Hare, Peter, Claire, Thomas Kazmierczak, Lauren, Anna Fleming; beloved friend of Serena Group and Maryann Emmert; predeceased in death by her precious Golden Retriever, Morgan.
