OAKLEY - Michael Timothy Age 47 of Alachua, Fl, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 in hospice care after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born November 9, 1965 in Buffalo, NY to Frank B. Oakley and Joyce E. Palermo. Michael loved to fish, hunt, shoot archery and firearms. He also loved playing guitar and music. His other hobbies included woodworking, water skiing, photography and he was quite an artist. Michael was a 1983 graduate of Kenmore West Senior High School, Kenmore, NY. He was also a member of Legacy Baptist Church in Alachua, FL. He is survived by his mother, Joyce E. Palermo of Gainesville, FL; daughter, Amanda Maria Oakley of Gainesville, FL and brother, Patrick M. Oakley of Buchanan, MI. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank B. Oakley and step-father, Blase T. Palermo.
