She was known for her cheerful and encouraging spirit that was an inspiration to others in meeting the challenges of life with grace. Her desire to be involved in the lives of her grandchildren Benjamin Nicholson Klepfer (13), Samantha Elise Klepfer (11), and Isaiah Nicholson Klepfer (9), led her to move, with her husband Paul E. Nicholson, from sunny San Antonio, TX, to sunny Plymouth, MN. She supported all of their efforts in school, sports, and music with her enthusiastic presence and love. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert A. and Olga E. Schrenk of Kenmore, NY, and a brother Carl A. Schrenk of Sanborn, NY. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Reverend Paul E. Nicholson; a son, Paul A. Nicholson (Lee P. Hubbell), of Chicago, IL; a daughter, Ruth Nicholson Klepfer (Jeffrey S. Klepfer), of St. Louis Park, MN; a brother, Fred R. Cranmer of Mayfield, NY. Services and interment will be in Plymouth, MN. Roberta will be remembered for her joyful laughter and singing, and her strength of spirit. She demonstrated her love for others through her gifts of meals and special treats. Her uncanny ability to remember dates, coupled with her genuine affection for others was expressed by a steady stream of conversation and correspondence that touched the lives of all who knew her.
