Sandra (Shafer) KIMBER

KIMBER - Sandra (nee Shafer) Age 55, August 28, 2013, of Huntington Beach, CA. Sandy was born July 5, 1958 in Buffalo, NY, beloved wife of George Kimber; dedicated mother of Zachary Kimber; loving stepmother of Adam and Evan Kimber; adored grandmother of Nathanael, Ethan and Nadine Kimber; cherished daughter of Marjorie Joan Shafer of Buffalo, NY; sister of Elizabeth (Robert) Kolken of Buffalo, NY, Ellen (Larry) Gervase, Phyllis (Les) Oreck and Michael (Nancy) Shafer of California; also survived by nieces and nephews. Sandy profoundly touched many lives and lit up the room with her passion. Her larger than life personality is remembered by her fun loving practical jokes, exuberant story telling, savvy shopping, generosity, encouragement, positive spirit and kindness. Sandy will be dearly missed by her friends and family and remembered for her kind heart and always being a champion for others. Sandy began her exemplary law enforcement career with the Los Angeles Police Department, achieving the rank of Detective III. She later worked as a Personal Assistant for the Royal Family of Brunei. Sandy completed her career with the Los Angeles Airport Police, where she worked for 12 years during which time she was an Emergency Appointment Sergeant, Narcotics Detective and served her last assignment as an Airport Police Officer III in the Elite Dignitary Protection Unit. Funeral Services were held in California to celebrate her life and career. Honored by her peers with a full traditional police ceremony including flag folding, gun salute, playing of taps, bagpipes and a full honor guard. Sandy is our shining star and will be there to guide us with love and peace. You will inspire us to live life to the fullest. Love you Sandy, forever and always.
