MONTALDI - Serafino L. April 20, 2014, age 89, of Tonawanda, after a brief illness, husband of Mary (nee D'Ortona) Montaldi; father of Dominic (Patti) and Michael (Lisa) Montaldi, Louise (John) Spendio and Sandra (Dan) Richert; brother of Lena Ellis, Catherine Purpura and Lois (Lee) Pierce; grandfather of Lisa, John and Donna Spendio, Gina, Danny and Jen Richert, Vince, Nicholas, Angela, Nick, Josh, Mike and Krissi Montaldi; great-grandfather of DeAnna, Billy, Michael, Noah, James, Christina, Elaina, Steven, Helena, Joe, Alex, Drew, Grace, Gabriel and Aidan; great-great-grandfather of Colin and Leo; also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday only from 4-8 PM at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam St., at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 150 Broad St., Tonawanda. Friends invited. Entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. If desired, memorials to North Tonawanda Meals on Wheels are preferred. Mr. Montaldi was a Navy Veteran of WWII and employed by IBEW Local 41 before retiring.
