Earl KIRBIS Obituary

KIRBIS - Earl William, Sr. Age 88, entered the arms of His Heavenly Father on December 27, 2014. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Rose Kirbis, this past August. He is survived by his children, Patricia (Irwin) Weinstein, Robert (Beth), Barbara (Rick) Ryan, John (late Theresa), Edward (Maria), Joseph (Debora), Virginia (Patrick) Finch, Earl Jr., Maureen (David) Audino, Margie (Ronald) Hajnos and the late Thomas (Bonnie); 30 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his best friend since childhood, Andrew Svisco, and his wife, Louise. He also was predeceased by his brother, Robert and sister, Shirley Dell. Earl was born at home in the Town of Tonawanda to Robert and Martha Kirbis. He graduated early from Kenmore High School so he could join the Navy during WWII. He loved his years in the Navy and the lifelong friends he made during the service. After discharge from the Navy, he became a union electrician and a member of the IBEW Local #41 until his death. After retirement, he enjoyed golfing, traveling, LST reunions and spending time with his family. He was an active member of St. Amelia's Church. Earl was deeply loved and cherished by his family and friends and he will be greatly missed. No prior visitation. Private service. Arrangements by LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel). Ginny and Kirbis Family –
What a blessed life your parents had! A 65-year marriage, 11 children, and an extended family continuing on for generations to come. Many memories of my childhood involve your family – Rose's warm smiles and caring way; Earl's hellos from his recliner, wearing his slippers and sporting his Navy tattoo. What stands out most to me now is knowing how hard it must have been to raise a family of that size – both working outside the home too - but to see them…it all seemed so manageable and normal. May they both enjoy eternal peace and may you all carry on their legacy with pride.
