I wish i would have seen this sooner. As you know, i know what you are going through now. I just wish i could have come and shared my feeling with you in person as you did when my dad passed. Dear Gavin Family,
I was a close friend of Fr, Devaney and of his sister Anne.
I have talked to some of you on the telephone asking you about Fr. Devaney.
I talked to him several times during the years. We went to grade school together at St. John the Evaneglist.
Fr. and his sisters used to come over to our house and we would play Mass.
I found him after many years because of your Mom. She told me he was in West Palm Beach. I had attended a Mass at his new church but never recognized him. I called him when I returned to Florida and all of the Mader girls had a reunion with him at my house in Jupiter, FL.
My Deepest sympathy to all of you and to his sister Anne,

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
