McGOWAN - Dorothy A. (nee Rowe) March 26, 2011, beloved wife of the late Hon. Thomas F. McGowan; dear mother of Thomas J., Patricia A. (Frank) Lipere of Berkeley Heights, NJ, Margaret M. (Kevin) Hurley of Fairport, NY, Paula M. (Robert DDS) Gedeon Jr., Michael F. (Melanie Turieo) of Arlington, MA and Dorothy Pamela (D. William) Nordstrom; loving grandmother of Matthew, Megan and Ryan Hurley and Michael Lipere and Bridget Gedeon; sister of Alice Mary (late Francis) Sloan and Willette (Joseph) Leopold of Sarasota, FL; aunt of Thomas, Timothy and Michael Sloan, Ann Marie McGrath and Mark and Julie Geoghegan. The family will receive friends at the C. MERTZ AND SON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 911 Englewood Ave., Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis Church (Main and Edward Sts., Buffalo), Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Dorothy was a member of The Third Order of Saint Dominic. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to The Dominican Monastery at 335 Doat St., Buffalo, NY 14211 and/or a charity of your choice. Dorothy's cremains will be interred next to her husband, Hon. Thomas F. McGowan in Arlington National Cemetery.
