JUSZYNSKI - Genevieve T., R.n. (nee Marcinkowski) August 18, 1922 - September 23, 2012. Formerly of Cheektowaga, a retired nurse for Sheehan Memorial Emergency Hospital, died Sunday, September 23, 2012 in State College, PA following a short illness. She was 90. Mrs. Juszynski was born in Buffalo and graduated from Villa Maria Academy and the E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She resided in Cheektowaga until relocating to Pennsylvania in 2004 to be nearer her daughter. Following graduation from nursing school she began a long career in medical-surgical nursing, working briefly at E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital followed by 30 years of service at Sheehan Memorial Emergency Hospital, from which she retired in 1984. For many years she volunteered her time with the St. Josaphat's Mother's Club, working Christmas bazaars and weekly bingo. Her hobbies included crocheting and baking and for many years she provided an endless supply of cookies and afghans for friends and family. Holiday celebrations weren't complete without her pies and cheesecakes. On July 29, 1950 she married Bernard Juszynski who preceded her in death on November 13, 1956. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Curran, and her husband Brian, of State College; a sister Eleanore Matuszak and her husband, Edward, of Cheektowaga; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by three sisters, Dorothy Marcinkowski, Alfreda Maziol and Alice Prabucki. A celebration of her life will be held in Buffalo on Saturday, October 27, 2012 following 10 AM interment at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 700 Pine Ridge Rd. (Section FF, line 108).
