DARROCH - Deacon Nelson A Catholic Deacon and retired manager at FMC Corporation, of Middleport, NY, died May 15, 2011, at Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. Nelson was ordained a permanent Deacon in the First Diaconate Class in the Diocese of Buffalo in 1978. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, the former Grace Siracuse; four children: David (Darlene) of Chicago, IL, Kathleen (John) Nyerges of Rochester, NY, Michael (Michele) of Dalton, MA and Margaret Darroch of Middleport; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters: Richard Darroch and Patricia Gibney, both of East Amherst, NY, Thomas (Carol) Darroch of West Virginia, Norma Keleher of Lockport, Alvin Darroch of California and Robert (Debbie) Darroch of Florida; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday 7-9 and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the BATES, WALLACE & HEATH FUNERAL HOME, 38 State St., Middleport. Recitation of the Office of the Dead, Liturgy of the Hours at the Funeral Home by the Diaconate Community will be held Friday at 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Stephen's RC Church, 21 Vernon St., Middleport, where a Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated by the Rev. Fabian Maryanski. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Middleport. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the Darroch Family.
