DWYER - Robert J. Age 76, of Hopewell Junction, died suddenly on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 while vacationing with his family. Born in Buffalo on October 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Judge John F. and Sarah Weaver Dwyer. He graduated from St. Bonaventure University and then proudly served our country in the US Navy. He received his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Mercy College. Bob retired as a Captain with the New York State Police after 25 years of service. Bob was an active member of the Chelsea Yacht Club and held a Coast Guard Captain's License. He also volunteered as an Ambassador for the Walkway Over the Hudson. He loved sailing, flying his remote control airplanes and playing the keyboard for his family and friends. Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia (Borowinski); his sons and their wives, Robert C. and Jennifer Dwyer of Wakefield, RI and Kyle J. and Laura Dwyer of North Kingstown, RI; his grandchildren, Robert, Sean and Abigail; his sister, Coletta Evans and her husband Newman; his brother, David Dwyer; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the MCHOUL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
