To the family of Ron, I am truly sorry and saddened to hear of Ron's passing. Over the past several years Ron has worked at the Bills games he always stopped by my section to watch a bit of the game. Ron had a strong presents and I will surly miss his happy smiling face and that handle bar mustache of his and his funny comments. He sadly came to mind several times during yesterday's game... Having been in a car accident that nearly claimed my life I get how precious each and every day of life is. May your faith get you through these most difficult times.

I am a retired US Customs Inspector and worked with Ron when he was an Immigration Inspector at the Lewiston bridge. I remember Ron as a larger than life guy who had an ongoing practical joke thing going on with another Immigration Inspector, who shall remain unnamed, since he has not posted. Ron manipulated this inspector's personal drawer at the bridge, so it wouldn't open. Said inspector then sewed shut one sleeve of Ron's winter uniform jacket.
Ron then made a huge sign, 2 ft high and 4 ft wide that said Blank is
A a Bozo
B a Moron
C a dork
C a Doofus
E All of the above.
There was a large check mark next to E. He the hung this sign(during the midnight to eight shift) from the US Immigration sign hanging from the ceiling. About 10 or 11 am, the Buffalo, INS District Director came into the bridge office w. visiting dignitaries from headquarters. The sign made him very unhappy.

Officer Ron will truly be missed by everyone at West Senior. He always had a smile on his face no matter what. I remember him sitting at our lunch table and asking who had a boyfriend, and telling us that they were bad. I will always remember his smile. He left a great impact on West. I'm so glad I got to meet him and know him. He was truly the best guy there. No ones mustache will ever compare to his. Rest In Paradise Officer Ron

It's so hard to put everything I want to say in one little paragraph. I guess i'll start with how I met Officer Ron. Two years ago I transferred to West Seneca West High School. I remember the first thing he said to me.. He sat down at my lunch table and asked why my nails were all different colors haha. I said I couldn't pick just one. After my junior year, I became incredibly close with him. We said good morning every morning, and were on a first name basis. For every holiday I got him just little things, something my mother taught me- little things mean the most. He was so grateful, and always told me he'd pay me back someday. He always tried to buy me pizza or drinks from the bookstore, but I never would let him. Just our talks was a good enough "payback". Officer Ron sat and talked to me for hours when I had to wait for rides on my early d's, or wait for musical practice. And after the musical, he was so ecstatic about the way I danced he had no idea. Officer Ron was a friend, he was someone who always put a smile on my face. I don't think there was one day I saw him, and he wasn't happy. Officer Ron taught me many things. He taught me how to appreciate the little things in life. How to appreciate my parents and what they do for me. He taught me how to enjoy life, because you never know when your last day is. But most of all, he showed me what true friendship is. I never got the chance to thank him, for everything he's done for me. Officer Ron meant so much to me, he was like a grandpa. He told me about his grandchildren, and wife, and stories upon stories.. He was someone I always expected to be there, always. Officer Ron has left hand prints on my heart. He was truly one of the best people I have ever known. I will never forget the meaningful lessons he taught me, and the fun we had together. I love and will miss you dearly Officer Ron. Rest in peace

My daughter spoke very highly of Officer Ron. He always went out of his way to talk to her and ask her how her day was going. She and her friends loved it when he would join them at their lunch table. He was an awesome role model for the students at West and his presence will be missed.

My daughter called me from college and told me what had happened. She said that officer Ron would sit with her at lunch and was truly a nice man. I also have a younger daughter who stops at your house on occasion to see Lexy. Officer Ron was always so kind to her and her friends. We are so sorry for your loss. What a truly kind person with a warm heart.

I think I've gotten to know Ron better during his time as a hall officer at West Senior than I did during the short time I worked with him. What struck me then, and indeed more in recent years, is the kind of true gentleman that he chose to live his life. I observed countless times the expressions of love the high school students gave him. Ron treated every student as if he or she were his own child, often setting time aside to support them at after school events. Served his nation, served his community, served anyone at anytime. This is a man that will not be forgotten.

Dear Mrs. Piwowarczyk and family,
I just wanted to send our deepest sympathy in the loss of Officer Ron, as my daughter Brianna would so often speak of and call him. I just wanted to thank you all for sharing such an extraordinary man with so many, and to let you know personally how deeply he touched my daughter Brianna's life. I am not sure he knew the depth of a lesson I tried to teach her... something as simple as a small gift. That it doesn't matter how much you spend, that it is the idea that you simply thought of someone and remembered them that really counts.
So thank you again, and thank you Officer Ron for helping complete my lesson. By being so grateful for a cup, a coke, and some candy picked out with love. For helping teach the simple joy of sharing, caring and having someone to share it with. That this is really what is important. You maybe gone from this earth as we know it, but as with Brianna, and the vital lessons you helped teach her, and the support you gave me as a parent, I am sure without even realizing, you will live on and continue to influence the lives of all you touched.
With gratitude and our deepest sympathy,
Cindy, Jim, Jimmy, Angelina, and especially, Brianna Messana

Dear John, Channon and your family: This poem has helped me, and I can only hope it will help you and your family too.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way you always used.
Put no difference in your tone,
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we shared together.
Let my name be ever
the household word it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort,
without a trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant,
It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you for an interval,
somewhere very near, just around a corner.
Kindest Regards, Susan E. O'Connor
