Pij was a hoot. We where at Bragg together in the 72nd. At mail call he'd make me read aloud, hopping around with Cary from the Forney Messenger. We went on all those nasty deployments, Ft Greeley and 29 palms etc. I used to call him, O Exalted short One, cause he gave me so much crap for being a tall Texan. Great soldier!

Seven years late. I did not know that Ron had passed. We were very good friends when we were at Ft Bragg together. We had many adventures together including him and his wife going to my parents farm in Pennsylvania a couple of times to hunt groundhogs and deer. We went to Alaska in Feb 1975 right before I was discharged. He had decided to re-enlist and try a new MOS in Air Traffic Control. We went many times to the beach in Morehead City, NC. We shot varmint rifles at a place on the Cape Fear River many weekends. Unfortunately we lost touch after I left the service and now I really regret that. I always intended to re-connect but it would slip my mind and as the years went by I guess it just retreated to the back of my mind. I am so sorry we never got to talk again. At that time of my life I didn't have a better friend. May you rest in peace my old friend and brother. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends. He was a great guy.
