We first met Ruth in 1980 at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. As she did with everyone, she immediately took us into her life and heart. Ruth had such a lively and genuine Christian faith. Her love for the Lord and his people was so evident, so delightful, so disarming. On that great day when the Lord brings us into his eternal home, we will reunite with Ruth. I can already hear her infectious laugh and feel her back-breaking hug. 'Til then, she will be greatly missed.

Jim and I met Ruth when she was in her 80's! She was full of life and on the go constantly. We lived in her lower flat for three years right after we were married and had our daughters. We had many conversations about her summers in Saranac Lake, how her father built their family home on Parkdale, and growing flowers! Although she had no close family left God provided her with a church family all over Buffalo. She will be missed but we rejoice that she has passed from death to life and is in eternity with our Lord. Hallelujah!

Miss Westenfelder was my 6th grade English teacher in 1972 as well. She made us work hard and reach higher than we ever had. I remember that she set us up with pen pals in Japan. We wrote carefully crafted letters on onion-skin paper and sent them around the world. She was a great teacher and role model.

Ruth was a friend of International Students, I first met Ruth when we both helped with the I.S.I. International Host Family Program, she always opened up her home for us to meet and served great snacks. I will always remember Ruth's friendliness and kindness. Pat Anna

I will always remember Ruth as a lady who lived her life with dignity and shared her warmth and caring ways with everyone. I am sorry I can't make her memorial service as we are currently in Florida.

Miss Westenfelder was my sixth grade teacher back in 1972. She was the toughest, most caring, most involved teacher you could ever hope to have. She was a model for her profession, and made a lasting and positive impact on my life.

I met Ruth through International Student ministries and found her to be a lovely person. Almost made it to 100 didn't she. Bonnie
