BOROWICZ - Raymond S. 93, of Fruitland Park, FL, was born October 2, 1920 in Buffalo, NY and passed away June 26, 2014. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and was an educator and baseball coach as well as a professional baseball player. From 1941-1942, he played shortstop and pitched in the New York Yankees organization. He later taught and coached at Huntington High school in NY, coached at the University of Buffalo, and served as a pitching coach for the Burlington Indians (Cleveland Indians). Locally, Mr. Borowicz attended St. Paul's Catholic Church in Leesburg. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping. Survivors include: son Raymond "Skip" Jr.; daughters Judi (Bill) Cornish and Jan (Vinnie Romano) and grandchildren Cate (Doug) and Rob Cornish. He was preceded in death by his first wife Julia in 1982, second wife Alda in 2013, son Robert, as well as two grandchildren. A visitation will be held at BEYERS FUNERAL HOME, Leesburg on Saturday June 28, 2014 from 6:00 -7:00 PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 7 PM.
