BARBER - David Edwin Of Cattaraugus, age 93, a retired attendant for JN Adams, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Jenny B. Richmond Nursing Home, Springville, NY. He was born February 3, 1918 in Sheffield, PA the son of the late Robert and Inez (Spicer) Barber. He worked as a truck driver for Wurlitzer and Bell Aircraft in the Buffalo area. He served in the US Army from September 1942 till January 1946 and was a member of the American Legion of Little Valley. He served in the National Guard from 1950 till 1952. He is survived by three sons; Robert J. (Lorna S.) Barber, Sr., Richard J. (Deborah) Barber, Douglas D. (Brenda Austin) Barber all of Cattaraugus, NY, a daughter; Eileen A. (Bill Ginter) Budaj of Hinsdale, NY, two granddaughters; Patricia J. Halstead of Clarks Summit, PA, Shelly A Inda of Eagle River, AK, seven grandsons; Robert J. Barber, Jr., Jeremy J. Barber, Evan R. Barber, Shane J. Barber all of Cattaraugus, NY, Scott J. Budaj, Aaron D. Budaj, Joshua J. Budaj all of Olean, NY, Twelve Great Grandchildren, a step-granddaughter Chelsea I. Allen of East Otto, NY, four step-grandsons; Brad Hines of Cattaraugus, NY, Cory Hines serving in Korea, Jeffrey Hines of Cattaraugus, NY, Ryan Blakely serving in Germany, and a sister; Katherine Albrencht of Cassadaga, NY. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Zajdel Barber, a brother Richard, and three sisters Loretta, Connie and Edith . Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Washington Street, Cattaraugus, NY. Father Joseph Moreno of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Park Cemetery in Cattaraugus. Visitation will be held at HILLS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 55 South Main St., Cattaraugus on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Family suggests memorials to Meals on wheels for Cattaraugus Area, Dept. of Aging Suite 7610, #1 Leo Moss Drive, Olean, NY 14760.
