QUENNEVILLE - Valence J. Retired Union Carpenter Local 280 (Lockport), died January 21, 2013 at Millard Fillmore Hospital. He was 81 years old. He was born in 1932 to Valence Quenneville and Mary Elizabeth Brennan in Saranac Lake, NY. A native of Brownville, NY, Mr. Quenneville graduated in 1950 from Voorheesville High School, and attended Syracuse University. He entered the US Navy in 1953 and was stationed in Coronado, CA. He served aboard the USS Missouri in US Special Forces during the Korean War and earned the National Defense Service Medal. He met the love of his life, Loretta Gulino Droney, and they were married on December 14, 1963. An avid sportsman, he loved fishing and pheasant hunting. Some of his work assignments included Niagara Community College, Hooker Energy Plant, Somerset Power Plant, Rainbow Mall and Attica State Prison. He retired in 1986. He is survived by his children Jerome Droney, Timothy Droney, Patrick Droney, Mary Kay Deyo, Bryan Droney, Elizabeth Quenneville Mowry, and his sisters Marilyn Trainor and Mary Elizabeth DiDomineck. He is predeceased by his brother Richard Quenneville, his sisters Virginia Donaldson and Helen O'Connor, and his wife of 49 years, Loretta. The family will be present Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the (Harris Hill Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8440 Main Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 9 AM at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 8500 Main Street, Clarence. Burial of cremated remains at Mt. Calvary will be private.
