MANKA - Judith It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our dear wife, mother, and friend. Judy died peacefully and without pain on Wednesday May 8,2013, after battling cancer stoically for 25 years. Her husband Peter Sr., and children Jennifer, Peter Jr. and Stephanie were by her side until she passed. She is survived by her husband Peter Sr.; her children Jennifer, Peter Jr., Stephanie and their spouses; her grandchildren Max and Emma and her brother Alan (Dee). Judy wished to endure her travail privately, but would have felt honored and moved by your regard. Above all, she would have been gratified by your interest in learning of and sharing in one of her principal concerns, animal welfare. Judy saw animals as sentient beings deserving the right to lead humane, healthy, and peaceful lives. She contributed tirelessly to help relieve the suffering of animals in factory farms, those performing for circuses or other entertainment venues, those in captivity, and unwanted pets. One of her favorite non-profit organizations was Abbe-Freeland Animal Sanctuary, a wildlife rehabilitation center located in Angelica, NY dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of injured local wildlife. If you would like to participate in honoring Judy's memory, please contribute to Abbe-Freeland Animal Sanctuary at http://www.afasrehab.org/ or 8104 Terwiliger Road, Angelica, NY 14079. Arrangements by AUDUBON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES.
