BRANDON – Ann I. Denton, 86, of Brandon, died Thursday afternoon at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
Ann was born on March 2, 1925, near Coggon, the daughter of Erwin J. and Dorothy (Mills) Buess. She attended the Coggon Schools thru the 11th grade and graduated from Roosevelt High School, Cedar Rapids, in 1943, and became employed with the Linn County Auditor's Office in Cedar Rapids. On Aug. 10, 1947, she was married to Grover G. Denton in Cedar Rapids. The couple made their home in Marion prior to moving the Manchester area in 1960. In 1967 the family moved to Monticello, living there until moving to Brandon in 1972 and founding the Denton Castings Company.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years. Grover "Mike" Denton; three children: Pat (Dave) Heusmann, Mt. Pleasant, Mike (Deb) Denton, Independence, and Tom Denton, Brandon; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Genevieve Taylor.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 4 at the Reiff Funeral Home and Crematory, Independence.
