Adeline K. (Holbach) Vogel (1916 - 2012)

JESUP – Adeline K. Vogel, 96 years old and formerly of Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Buchanan County Health Center, Independence, of natural causes. She was born April 29, 1916, in Black Hawk County the daughter of Martin Holbach and Barbara (Kettman) Holbach. On Oct. 6, 1936, she was united in marriage to Francis Clement Vogel in Gilbertville. Francis preceded her in death in 1997. Addie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Vogel is survived by two daughters, Karen (Loy) McLaughlin of Independence, Diane (Richard) Youngblut of Jesup; four sons, Gary (Doris) Vogel of Dubuque, Donald (Diane) Vogel of Peoria, Ariz., James (Kathy) Vogel of Waterloo, Larry (Linda) Vogel of Jesup; and a son in law Dean Wienands of Arizona City, Ariz. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Marlene Wienands; one sister, Agatha Casey; one brother, Louis Holbach; one great grandson, Ryan Huffman and one son in law, Lewis Nabholz.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup with Fr. Scott Boone as celebrant. Music was by Monica Bengston, organist and the St. Athanasius Choir, with special music by Bobbie Schares and Amber Youngblut. The Offertory was presented by Marianne Aneweer, Lori McKinzie, Elizabeth Vogel, Amy Arneson, Heather Crawford, Jodi Mace, Tiffany O'Meara, Cinthia Huffman. Casket Bearers were Mark Brasch, Mike Brasch, Rod Nabholz, Brad Nabholz, Chris Nabholz, Jeff Vogel, Doug Vogel, Brian Vogel, Eric Vogel, Darrin Youngblut, Dean Youngblut, and Levi Vogel. Burial was at St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Jesup. Special Services held Friday, Sept. 21, at White Funeral Home, Jesup included a Parish Rosary at 4 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Memorials will be directed to St. Athanasius School in Jesup.
