CHICAGO - Amelia Claire "Mia" Wieland, 3 months old, residing in Chicago, passed away on Monday, June 27 at home.
She was born March 31, 2011, in Chicago, to David J. and Sarah L. (Badics) Wieland, who survive. In addition to her parents, David and Sarah, Mia is survived by her brother, Graham Wieland; her maternal grandparents, Jacqueline S. Badics and Frank Johnson of Granger, Ind.; her paternal grandparents, Ted and Mary Wieland of Winthrop; and her maternal great-grandmother, Dorthy Louise Wiltrout of South Bend, Ind. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles, Chris and Erin Wieland, and their daughter, Sofia, Michael and Megan Wieland, and their children, Kale and Brielle, Daniel Wieland, Maresa Wieland, Lauren Wieland, Jack Badics, Richard S. and Elizabeth Badics, and their children, Seth and Kassidy, and David and Brooke Badics and their son, Layne.
Mia was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Richard W. Badics; and her great-grandparents, Harlyn and Alberta Wieland, Kenneth and Teresa Bertch, Richard E. and Litha Badics, and Jack Wiltrout.
Mia was a sweet, beautiful and happy baby and was loved so much by her family as well as everyone who met her. She will be missed very much. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, July 1, in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame. Graveside services and burial followed at Southlawn Cemetery.
