Obituary

JESUP – Aulden E. Tegtmeier, 69 years old of Jesup died Monday, Oct. 8, at Allen Memorial Hospital from an apparent heart attack. He was born February 15, 1943, at Waucoma, the son of Walter Fred Tegtmeier and Ellen Margerite (Winter) Tegtmeier.
On Aug. 14, 1965, he was united in marriage to Harriet Jane Knudson at Hope Lutheran Church, Westgate.
He was a member of Ross Reid American Legion Post 9 in Oelwein.
Mr. Tegtmeier is survived by his wife Harriet of Jesup; two sons, Walter "Wally" (Andrea) Tegtmeier of Oelwein, James (Malina) Tegtmeier of Minneapolis, MN; one daughter, Lisa (Brock) Staley of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Lou (Doug) Buckendahl of Kalama, Wash. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gordon Tegtmeier.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, with burial at Fontana Cemetery, Hazleton, with Military Rites conducted by Ross Reid American Legion Post 9, Oelwein. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home. Memorials will be directed to Veterans Park, Sumner and to other American Legion efforts.
