INDEPENDENCE - Beulah A. Harmon, 84, of Independence, died on Thursday, Aug. 4, at her home following a sudden illness.
She was born in Independence on March 23, 1927, the daughter of Albert Henry and Beulah May (Tibbetts) Ward. On Aug. 31, 1947, she and Delmar Harmon were married at the Albert Ward home in Independence. He preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. Harmon was a dietician with several institutions before retiring in 2001.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Independence and Chapter BD P.E.O. in Independence. She was a former member of the Independence Community Band and also several enjoyed playing the piano and playing bridge.
Mrs. Harmon is survived by two sons, Steven Harmon of Irvington, N.J., and Roger (Theresa) Harmon of Houston, Texas, one daughter, Janet (Chuck) Keillor of Lake Jackson, Texas, and two grandchildren, Russell Keillor and Lauren Keillor.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Tom Harmon, one sister, Agnes McAllister, and one brother, Chuck Ward.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence. Burial was in Wilson Cemetery in Independence.
