Bonnie C. Groesbeck, 80, of rural Independence, died February 22, 2010, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence following a short illness. She was born April 22, 1929, in Golden City, Mo., the daughter of Charley Lee and Theora Bonnie (Browne) Blanchard. Groesbeck is survived by her husband of 29 years, Alan; two daughters: Debra (Lorne) Lee of Independence, and Tina (Earl) Steinbron of Jesup; one stepson, Alan Groesbeck of Independence; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: Charley Lee Blanchard of Bakers City, Ore., and Steadman (Jill) Blanchard of Joplin, Mo., and one sister, Kay (Delno) Robertson of Columbia, Mo. In addition to her second husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sons, and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26 at the Cornerstone Foursquare Church in Independence. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the Buckingham Cemetery in rural Traer. White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements.
