Obituary

INDEPENDENCE – Bonnie M. O'Brien, 84 years old, of Dubuque, formerly of Independence, died on Friday, April 19, at her home. She was born on Nov. 30, 1928, in Oelwein, the daughter of Harry and Maude Olive (Munsinger) Hanna. On Feb. 22, 1948, she and Harvey Edward O'Brien were married at the Presbyterian Parsonage in Independence. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Mrs. O'Brien is survived by one daughter, Susie (Terry) Brown of Dubuque; one son, David (Kelly) O'Brien of Chino Valley, Ariz.; and one sister, Margaret VanEtten of Bend, Ore.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ronnie O'Brien, one daughter, Judi O'Brien; two brothers, William Hanna and James Hanna; and three sisters, Patricia Scott, Harriet Todd, and Mary Helen Meyer.
Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence with Rev. John Hougen officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.
