WATERLOO – Brian J. Mohlis, 34, of Waterloo, Iowa and formerly of Oelwein, died on Thursday, July 25, at his home.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. on Monday, July 29, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, 221 N Frederick Ave, Oelwein. Officiating will be Rev. Casey Reinkoester. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and after 1 p.m. on Monday. Interment will be at the Hazleton Cemetery, Fontana Addition at Hazleton.
A Memorial Fund has been established in his name.

Brian James Mohlis was born on March 14, 1979 at Waterloo, the son of James Frederick and Donna Marie (Duckett) Mohlis. He graduated from Oelwein Community High School at Oelwein in 1997. Brian married Michelle Marie Schnepf on May 18, at Teachers Park at Independence. He worked at Standard Distributing in Cedar Falls. Brian enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, riding his Harley, hockey (Boston Bruins), football (especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers) and spending time with his family and friends.
Brian is survived by his wife, Michelle Schnepf Mohlis of Waterloo; Son, Preston James Mohlis at home; Parents, James and Donna Mohlis of Oelwein; Sister, Robin (David) Phillips of Cedar Falls; and two Nieces, Karlee and Rowan Phillips both of Cedar Falls.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents (Fred and Fern Duckett) and paternal grandparents (Fritz and Leona Mohlis).
