WALKER - Carl R. Arnold, 88, a resident of Living Center West, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Walker, died at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Friday, April 22.
Services were Tuesday, April 26, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Walker. Survivors include his special friend, Ruth Starling of Cedar Rapids; cousins, Ernie (Carol) Zimpfer of Walker and Marjory Bloom-Hall of Cedar Rapids; and numerous second cousins. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Arnold.
Born Feb. 17, 1923, in Walker, Arnold was the son of Emery and Mable (Zimpfer) Arnold. He served in the U.S. military in the SeaBees in Guam.
Arnold worked as a farmer. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Walker American Legion Post 376. Arnold enjoyed raising tomatoes and selling them and hunting and fishing with Ruth, his fishing partner.
