ELK RUN HEIGHTS – Carol Elaine Hamilton, 74, of Elk Run Heights, died Wednesday, April 6 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
She was born August 8, 1941 in San Bernardino, Calif., daughter of Arthur and Martha Crawford.
She married Clem Hamilton, Jr. Sept. 14, 1962 at First United Methodist Church, Jesup.
Carol was employed with Northwest Bell and then US West Service Link as a telephone operator and engineering department scheduler for 29 years, retiring in 1998. She had a long love of horses and her dogs, winning awards at local dog shows.
She is survived by her husband; a son Mark (Sheri) Hamilton of Evansdale and children Jason and Ashley; a daughter, Amy (Steve ) Spurgeon of Olatha, Kan. and children Tori and Olivia; four sisters: Cathy (Steve) Carlson of Fairbank; Laurie Crawford; Becky (Lyle) Wilson; and Sue Heinen, all of Jesup; and two brothers: John Crawford of Jesup and Paul Crawford of Independence.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Kimball Avenue Methodist Church, Waterloo, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday, April 11, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service, 300 West Ridgeway, Waterloo and continue for one hour before services at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the Kimball Avenue Methodist Church.
