PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Charles "Chuck" Aloysius O'Loughlin 80, of Florida died peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 27, just days before his 81st birthday. Charles was a resident of Port St. Lucie at the time of his passing.
Charles was a Veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his former wife, Dorothy O'Loughlin; four children and their families: Dr. Kevin Charles O'Loughlin and his wife Lisa Sobol of Niceville, Fla., Jeffrey Thomas O'Loughlin and his wife Denise O'Loughlin; Kimberly (O'Loughlin) Semmler and her husband James Semmler of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Dr. J. Brian O'Loughlin of Fayetteville, Ark. Charles had five grand daughters.
He was born in Independence, Iowa on Aug. 30, 1934. He was the only surviving son/sibling of the late William and Calista O'Loughlin.
He graduated from St John's Catholic High School in 1952. Attended University of Iowa and Loras College in Dubuque, until he voluntarily enlisted to served in the U.S. Army in 1955. He worked for Aon Corp from 1957 until 2011. His career took him to many parts of the country.
Memorials may be made to St Jude charities.
A memorial service will be held at St John's Catholic Church in Independence at 10:30 a.m., Saturday Sept. 19.
