Obituary

Oelwein – Clara M. VanBrocklin, 67, of Oelwein, and formerly of Jesup, died Friday, July 17, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, following a short illness with cancer. She was born Aug. 28, 1941, in Muscatine, the daughter of Robert Harley Kisner and Hazel (Fortune) Kisner.
Clara is survived by her husband John VanBrocklin of Oelwein; two daughters: Dianna (Randy) Thorp of Fairbank and Kim (Jim) Maddigan of Oelwein; three sons: Dean (Brenda) VanBrocklin of Fairbank, Randy (Cheryl) VanBrocklin of Evansdale, and Kevin VanBrocklin of Dunkerton; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers: John "Jack" (Kathy) Kisner of Parker, Ariz and Raymond (Linda) Kisner of Litchfield, Minn. and one sister, Mary Doyle of Cedar Falls. Her parents; three brothers: Robert, Tom and Ronnie Kisner; one sister, Gladys Ohrt, and two grandsons preceded her in death.

Memorials services will be 10:30 a.m. – Tuesday, July 21, at the First United Methodist Church, Jesup. The family will receive friends for and hour before the services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
