Debra Kay (Gilson) Reese (1955 - 2013)


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Debra Kay (Gilson) Reese, 57, died May 19, in Colorado Springs, Colo., where funeral services were held May 24.
Debra Kay Gilson was born Sept. 28, 1955 at Manchester, the daughter of Richard and Dorothy Gilson. She was raised on a farm in Winthrop, where she attended East Buchanan School, graduating in 1973. While in school she participated in 4-H a well as basketball, until a knee injury took place.
After graduation she attended the University of Northern Iowa, completing two years of college before moving to Colorado Springs. She started a career with the city of Colorado Springs where she committed 27 years of service. While living in Colorado Springs, Debra met Charles Reese and they married Sept. 4, 1988.
She enjoyed crafting and quilting activities with family and friends, pampering, and gardening.
Preceding her in death was her father Richard Gilson and sister Kathie Gilson.
Debra leaves to cherish her memories her husband Charles; daughters Kelsey and Charla Reese; mother Dorothy Gilson; brothers Larry (Carol) Gilson and Marty (Myral) Gilson; two grandchildren, and many family, friends, and loved ones.
Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Rd., Colorado Springs, was in charge of arrangements.
