Donald James Pech (1931 - 2012)


LAMONT – Donald James Pech was born on the farm south of Lamont, on Jan. 20, 1931, the second son of Albert and Freda Fewell Pech.
Don was united in marriage to Rosalea "Rhody" Davidson on August 3, 1952, at Port Wynemi, Calif. To this union were born two sons, Don II and Jimmer. He entered the United States Marine Corps in 1952, during the Korean War, spending two years in California and Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1954 when he returned to Winthrop.
At the age of 81 years, Don entered into his eternal rest on Wednesday, April 25, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Preceding him in death were his parents and granddaughter, Katie.
Survivors include his wife, Rhody, of almost 60 years, his two sons, two brothers: Charles of Lamont and Edward of Iowa City; two sisters: Joyce Glass of Huntley, Ill. and Shirley Hardin of Stevensville, Mont.
Friends called from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, April 27 at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lamont First Baptist Church in Lamont.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at the church with Rev. Scott Hall officiating. Military rites by the Lamont American Legion will be held during committal services at Campton Cemetery east of Lamont.
