Dorothy G. (Maudlin) Sadler (1921 - 2012)


INDEPENDENCE – Dorothy G. Sadler, 91 of Independence and formerly of Aurora, entered into her eternal rest Saturday, Nov. 24 at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at the Grace Evangelical Church in Independence. Friends called from 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church. Interment will be in Madison Cemetery south of Aurora.
Dorothy Gertrude Sadler was born April 18, 1921 near Aurora the daughter of Benjamin Harrison Maudlin and Laura M. Lowell Maudlin.
She was united in marriage to Vernon A. Sadler on Nov. 18, 1945 at Dixon, Ill. To this union were born two children: Anita and Paul.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon A. Sadler, who died in 1993, and her parents.
Those left to honor Dorothy's memory include her daughter Anita J. (LaVern) Leverington of Waterloo; her son Paul V. Sadler of Des Moines and her sister Eleanor Clark of Des Moines.
