Eva K. Tiffany, 90, of Independence, entered eternal life at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, following a short illness. She was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Lamont, the daughter of William and Edna L. (McLarnon) Ehler. She graduated from high school in Lamont and she finished her B.A. degree from the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, in 1976. On Dec. 24, 1942, she and Victor Glen Anderson were married at the First Methodist Church in Independence. He preceded her in death in 1966. On June 8, 1974, she and Wilbur Hale Tiffany were married at the First United Methodist Church in Independence. Tiffany taught in the Buchanan County country schools for many years. She also was a special education teacher in the Independence School system. She retired in 1981. Tiffany is survived by her husband, Wilbur of Independence; one daughter, Beverly (Michael) Anderson Curtiss of Hazel Green, Wis.; one step-daughter, Mary Ann (Joseph) Hooker of Des Moines; seven step-grandchildren, 18 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-granddaughter; two nieces: Brenda Jess of New Sharon, and Mary Jo Bush of Aurora, Colo., and one nephew, William Bush of Gowrie. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two step-children; two step-grandchildren and one sister, Vera Bush.
Funeral services were Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Independence. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. FA Memorial Fund has been established. Online condolences may be left at www.White-MtHope.com.
