Evelyn Mae (Fratzke) Snyder (1922 - 2013)

INDEPENDENCE – Evelyn Mae Snyder passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Park's Edge Nursing Facility in Tulsa, Okla. She was surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born on Aug. 14, 1922 on a farm south of Jesup. She was the daughter of Herbert and Bertha (Luloff) Fratzke. She attended country school. Her family moved to Independence when she was 15. She was united in marriage to Frank Snyder on May 2, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was last employed at Triangle Plastics in Independence. Evelyn and Frank moved to Tulsa, Okla. in 1988 to be closer to their family.
Evelyn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence and attended Fellowship Lutheran Church in Tulsa, Okla. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one infant sister, two infant brothers, one brother Floyd Fratzke and one sister June Short.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Connie (Chuck) Scott and Jeryl Miller, both of Tulsa, Okla., two grandchildren, Cale (Kassey) Miller of Austin, Texas, Hailey Miller of Tulsa, Okla., one sister Elaine (Vernie) Kirkendall, Independence and a special niece Micki Johnson of Prescott, Ariz. She is also survived be many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church Independence at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 with a luncheon after service.
A private inurnment will be held.
