WINTHROP – Frances "Fran" Jane Brubaker Trott was born Aug. 7, 1926, in Fremont Township, northeast of Winthrop, the daughter of George and Neva Gaylord Brubaker. She attended Winthrop High School, graduating with the class of 1943.
Fran was united in marriage to Dale W. Trott at the Winthrop Methodist Church on Nov. 19, 1944. To this union were born four children: Steven, Neil, Drew, and Gretchen. Being a member of the Church of Christ United at Winthrop, Fran enjoyed her love of music by singing in the Joyful Noise chorus choir, performing in the Resounding Joy hand bell choir, and teaching young members to play hand bells. She was a proud fifty-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. After raising her children, Fran worked as a bookkeeper and receptionist for East Buchanan Telephone Coop at Winthrop for many years.
Dale and Fran were members of the Good Sam camping club, loved to travel in their RV, and were able to spend several winters in the south. They visited every state except Hawaii and toured in Europe. Throughout their lives, family was very important to them, especially loving their precious grandchildren. After living on the Trott family farm for 63 years, Dale and Fran moved to Prairie Hills Assisted Living in Independence.
