INDEPENDENCE – Frances L. Anderson, 93, Independence, died Saturday evening, April 2, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Frances was born on Oct. 10, 1917, near Brandon, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Sullivan) Schultz. She graduated from the Brandon High School, and on Jan. 6, 1944, she was married to Donald L. Anderson. The couple made their home in Independence, where she and her husband owned and operated the Anderson Plumbing Company.
Frances is survived by five children: Mary (Bob) Black, Morrison, Ill., Bill Anderson, Salix, Richard (Sheri) Anderson, Jim (Linda) Anderson, and Chris (Paula) Anderson, all of Independence; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Rosemary Kissling, Oregon, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1984; a sister, Betty Wilson; and three brothers: Leonard, Wallace and Robert Schultz.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 at the Reiff Funeral Home and Crematory, Independence. Burial Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until services today at the funeral home.
