OELWEIN - Fredrick "Fred" Roy Cox, 74, died Saturday, April 16, at his home in Oelwein, after a battle with cancer.
Fred was born Dec. 15, 1936 in Aitkin, Minn., to Roy and Gertrude Smith Cox. He and his wife Astrid "Freddy" lived in Brainerd, Minn., from 1969 until the time of Freddy's death in 1995.
He will be dearly missed by his children Christine Cox, Cynthia Horton, Lori Walz, Bob Fredricks, Jeri Harting, Jackie Bission, 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special friend Ronda Downs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, wife, son Greg and two grandsons.
There will be no funeral as he donated his body to science. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date.
The Geilenfeld Funeral Home of Oelwein is assisting the family.
