INDEPENDENCE – Genevieve Satterlee Cook, 86 years old, of Silver Spring, Md., formerly of Independence, died on Wednesday, July 4, in Silver Spring, Md. She was born on Oct 12, 1925, in Independence, the daughter of Arthur Amos and Lois Miriam Hayzlett Satterlee. She was united in marriage to Clarence Harlan Cook and he preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Cook was a Registered Nurse before she retired.
Mrs. Cook is survived by two sons, Larry (Catherine Fletcher) Cook of Melbourne, Australia, and Craig A. Cook of San Francisco, Calif., and two daughters, Kathleen (Henry) Schmidt of Silver Spring, Md., and Suzanne (Barry) Rosloff of Garrett Park, Md. She is also survived by four grandchildren, James H. Cook, Susan J. Farrer, Michael L. Rosloff, and Genevieve Rosloff; four great grandchildren, Maddie, Tom, Sophie, and Holly Farrer; one brother, Clark Satterlee of Independence, and two sisters, Sheila Lamphier of Independence, and Sharon Kessler of Monterrey, Calif.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Satterlee and Jerome Satterlee.
Private family services are planned at the White Funeral Home in Independence. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery in Independence. On line condolences may be left at www.White-MtHope.com.
