WATERLOO - George E. Faris, Jr., 82, of Waterloo died Tuesday morning at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center of respiratory failure.
He was born July 26, 1928 in Vinton the son of George Edward and Gladys Irene Fintel Faris, Sr. He married Maxine Dickinson on Sept. 29, 1946 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
George retired from John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works as a machinist. He also owned and operated Faris Trucking, Faris Riding Arena, and the Ranchero Saddle Shop. George is survived by his wife, one son, Donald of Waterloo; one daughter, Barbara (Doug) McCalley of Waterloo; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Elvin Dean Faris.
Services were Friday, July 15, at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
